MS mouse only work in USB port not in PS/2 port

Hi, I am using XP and recently bought a MS intelliMouse. but no matter how hard I tried, this mouse only works and works fine in USB port.
When I plug it into the PS/2 port, there is no power on the reciever.

Anyone has same experience?
Anyone knows how to fix it. I really need the usb port for other purposes

Maybe the little green adaptor thing has a broken/bent pin? Maybe your ps/2 port is just dead.

Yeah. That has to be the only explanation I think.

you should get a little USB hub. they are like $15 and you will not be worried about not having ports available.

don't put the mouse on the hub if you do. Mouse doesn't work while scanner is going.

Thanks dude, but my other mouse works fine on that PS/2 port
