MS Messenger Popups are driving me nuts! But I use messenger on my LAN

I get spam popup messages all the time, and they're driving me nuts. I know I can just stop the MS Messenger service, but I actually use the "net send" command often on my network. Is there any way to only recieve messages that originate on the LAN?

generally, i find netsend very annoying.

i have them set off.
