MS is looking for play testers for their next online RPG....

They're looking to people who frequent the MMORPG world. They have slots to fill this coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. All slots are day time appointments, as early as 9am and as late as 3pm.

These are the 1 on 1 labs, where you're basically in an interrogation room with a PC and a bunch of instructions.

The guy said they haven't done these before for this type of game and they don't have many people to get in on it. I asked if it was for Mythica, however he could not confirm nor deny that it was. So draw your own conclusions.

For those who have done the Xbox playtests before, he also mentioned that the gratuity list is MUCH better than the console testlab gratuities. Office Professional 2003 IS available, Project 2003, as well as a few hardware options. As he put it, "you get the much better loot".

These are held in Redmond, at the Millenium campus off of Avondale, by the big Target and Mervyns. It is however a different building than the Xbox playtest labs.

PM me if you're located near by and want to go to one. I'll send you the guy's name and number as he said they need more people. I've already sent one friend to him, and he's scheduled for Tuesday (I'm going on Monday).

It's for Vanguard; Mythica got the axe ~6 months back. It looks like a very promising game, has some big mmorpg names involved. Unfortunately it's a long way off.

EQ2 may be close behind in terms of sales, but only in the same manner that reality TV does well in terms of viewers and AOL does well in terms of customers. Sony is like a horrible disease, turning everything they touch into steaming piles of sh*t. I hope for the sake of anyone with an IQ over 80 they don't get suckered into EQ2.

OP, not trying to turn it into a which mmog is better thread, just warn fellow ATers. Sony and their games are that bad.

Ahh, very nice. Honestly, WoW or EQ2 will be lucky if they pry me from City of Heroes. I'm thoroughly enjoying being elf/dwarf/lizard/ogre-less.

If anything, I will most likey try out EQ2. I have a lot of friends I played with in EQ that are considering moving over to try it out. [MMO GEEK] Our "guild" had disbanded last fall. Bunch of good guys left, and I never got in to the game after that. They're considering about starting over again with the same peeps. [/MMO GEEK]

I played EQ for years. It used to be a great game but it and its playerbase changed for the (much) worse in so many ways the past two years, in large part due to decisions Sony consciously made about how to manage it - which implies the same for EQ2. The only people playing now are hardcore addicts, kids, and idiots. I quit a few months back myself.

Is no one in the area that wants to go do a playtest? I'll post the gratuity list when I get it, probably thursday or friday.

Sent. I really like the individual labs better than the focus groups. I feel like I'm able to give much better feedback. The focus groups always have 3-4 people that feel like they are god's gift to (insert genre here) games. They usually end up being the focus of the focus groups. In my experience they're usually some younger kids, late teens, that have a lot to say about wether or not the chicks are hot in the games.....

My GF is cutting my game play time down 🙁, otherwise id be all over it since im close.
