MS Internet Keyboard Pro - keys "stick" in FPS games

I have the Internet Keyboard Pro, and I have problems with games such as Counterstrike, Jedi Knight 2, Soldier of Fortune 2, Thief etc. I use the keypad for FPS games. If pressed and held down often, NUMPAD7, NUMPAD9 and END keys will continuing firing and will repeat until explicitly pressed again. Accessibility options (toggle keys) and Speedkey are disabled. Perhaps there is some bug in IntelliType (version 2.11) or the Accessibility Options in WinXP? This same problem was reported by CygnusX1 two years ago, but he/she never solved it:

You can attempt to duplicate my fault using WinXP, the Keyboard Pro and some kind of FPS game (Half-Life, Jedi Knight 2, anything etc.) Using NUMPAD 8 as Forward and NUMPAD 7 and NUMPAD 9 as strafe left/right keys, make your character run a tight slalom course - that is, run forward, while alternate holding down your strafe left and right keys to zig zag. If you do it fast enough (try alternating a few times a second), the problem may present itself - ie, you remain strafing left or right (or even forward), even after the key is no longer pressed.

I ran a few experiments, this is what I found:

1. Using MS Internet Keyboard (non-Pro), issue did not reproduce itself.
2. On another PC, the Internet Keyboard Pro worked fine. Intellitype was NOT installed.
3. Even on clean boot, (system.ini + win.ini, no services), problem persisted in Internet Keyboard Pro.
4. Changing typematic settings doesn't fix problem.
5. RMAed the keyboard, got another one, problem still occurs.

I've been in contact with the MS Online Support system, but they've been only semi-useful. As of last writing, the tech is suggesting that it is a design limitation of the Internet Keyboard Pro. Keep in mind this keyboard is like $60 CDN, and it can't do something a $10 Taiwanese no-name keyboard can do?

Thanks for any help on this.

Stupid question, but have you tried NOT installing IntelliType on your current system which has the problems, I've found that all the Intelli software serves no real purpose, I use an IntelliMouse Explorer Optical, with just the windows drivers, no additional software, and I have a Logitech Internet Keyboard, without additional software and all the "Function" keys work fine, Browser, email etc..

Try not using the software, if not, I'd just look into another keyboard.

I have the same keyboard and the same problem, kinda annoying sometimes.
I guess uninstalling the intellitype software fixes it, but arent those extra buttons now useless?

Btw my firewall also noticed that type32.exe wants to access the internet sometimes, those microsoft bastards! 😀

I don't know if Intellitype has anything do with it. CygnusX1, in his original post, used Intellitype 1.1. Now, two years later, we are up to v2.11, and the same problem occurs? Anyway, I reinstalled the software, see if that does anything.

And yes, the shortcut keys will work without Intellitype, but you won't be able to configure them. I wouldn't complain, but this is an expensive keyboard, one of the most expensive on the market, and it is utter BS to just grin and bear it.
