MS IntelliMouse Optical, different versions?

What is up with the different versions of the MS IntelliMouse Optical?
I've seen D58-00026, D58-00015, and D58-00022. There might be more.
Some are 20-30 dollars, while others approach 90-100 dollars. Can anyone enlighten me on the differences between each version?

Have you looked at them?

The cheapest ones you see on Newegg are OEM licensed. Next come the regular licensed mice. Lets not forget a different model number for different colors. Then some models are newer versions with better optics in them. But they are all under $40. ANything higher is likely a wireless version.

Yeah I looked at them, that's why I was confused. Same colors, same shape, wired, etc.
Found even more models now. I can understand OEM, but that doesn't explain 5+ different versions. What exactly do you mean by "better" optics? MS just used some new parts and called it better, or is it something more substantial?

The new parts may have slightly better responce time or has a higher DPI. But the OEM ones are priced a bit cheaper. Technicly they are suppose to be sold with a new system. So system manufactures are given a bit of a price break since the item is suppose to be resold as part of a new system. Just like the OEM versions of an OS. Also with OEM you don't get a manufacture warenty or any other servces from the manufacutre if you have problems with it. So if you get the OEM and something goes wrong MS will do nothing to help you and tell you to go to where you purchased it from.
