MS IE Explorer KEEPS CLOSING>>>>WHY!!!!

OK,

Why in the frikin heck does IE5.5 close when I click on a file to download. I cant seem to find the setting to turn this "option (bug)" off.

please help. This is about the most annoying thing in the world
