MS File Server to NAS Device

We recently got a dell FS8600 NAS head at my work. I was looking to move some data to the NAS head but I am running into issues. Apparently their is some differences in NTFS permissions from a windows file server to a NAS head. Apparrently this is enough to trip up my standard way to move files which is to use either Quest Secure Copy or RoboCopy. RoboCopy just errors out and Secure Copy generates a error for every file copied. I can move data by using simple Copy and Paste using windows explorer but moving lots of data 1TB+ this isn't a real good method even with 10Gb links. Has anyone had to move large amounts of data from MS file system to a NAS head? I head somebody mention TeraCopy which I am going to look into.

I have no idea what a "NAS head" is but I just recently moved terabyte chunks to my NAS when redoing my entire storage config. I used explorer and didn't have any problems. I just recently became aware of the fact that there are alternatives to Win Explorer and will be "exploring" (pun intended) them next time I need to move tons of data. In my experience, when you run into problems copying or moving data, it's usually a bad HD or corrupt FS.

Do permissions need to be heavily enforced on the initial copy? Would it be possible to just open things up so robocopy can work and then adjust?

Well the interesting thing is I am not sure what permissions to open up. Right now even when I set my account to have full-control access to the folder copying data from and to the folder I am copying to I still run into issues. I am still trying to explore some other options.
