Okay ... heres the situation.

They have and exchange server that they use for calendaring and e-mail. They also use an external e-mail provider (linked to their webhost). All client PCs are using Outlook and connect to the external mail server as well as the exchange server. Incoming and outgoing e-mail work fine, if the exchange server sees an address it doesn't recognize it properly forwards it on to the ISP's DNS servers.

The external ISP e-mail server has ~10 distribution lists on it that I need to handle on the exchange server, as it appears they are not working right now. No undeliverable mail messages come back, but the recipients don't receive the mail. Basically I need to re-create these distribution lists and give everyone in the domain access to send e-mail to them. We have a few distribution lists that work fine, but these include ONLY local e-mails (thus handled completely by the exchange server). The lists that don't work include outside e-mail addresses (ie. joe@company.com, @aol.com, @hotmail.com ...) I can't add these types of e-mails to the distribution list. I have tried to create a public folder and place the lists in there, and that works fine, but You can't access that from the address book, and if you double click it brings up the Properties page (which would be sure to confuse people). Trying to add a list to the GAL, I again encountered that you can only use internal e-mails. One thought was to make a new contact in the exchange server, and bind SMTP e-mails (ie. SMTP=name@hotmail.com etc... in the display box).

We will eventually be moving our hosted e-mail in house, but I need to get this solved quickly before that all happens. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Cheers!
