Not for me, for a friend of mine...

---------------

I'm typing up an excel wkst (my first time using excel) and it's going to have 200+ rows and 4 columns. whenever I'm in the 4th column, tabbing would go to the 5th column...is there a way to either
1) hide all of the columns EXCEPT the 4 I'm working in?
2) tab so that it would go to the next row of the first column instead of the same row, 5th column?

ad 1) Select all column headers from E -> IV, press right mouse button and select "Hide".
ad 2) I don't know. Edit: doesn't look good. "Tools/Options/Edit/Move selection after enter" only has the settings: up,down, left, right.

bober fett: "How about pressing Enter?"

pressing enter would go down to the next row in the same column..for example, I'm in the 4th col, pressing enter would go down to the 4th column, next row..I want it to go the the next row, first column. and hiding columns 5-whatever would only replace it with the next columns...and this excel (version 2000) doesn't use E or IV..or am I missing something?

I take it you're looking for a single keystroke to do what you want.

Enter, End would do it, as would Enter, Several Shift+Tabs. Maybe write a macro to do it and assign it to a key?

Each column is labeled with a letter (or two) at the top, first column is A, last is IV (for a total of 256 columns, I think). You can select a column by clicking on this labeled cell. You can also select multiple columns by clicking and dragging over these labeled cells at the top. That's what I meant before.
