Anyway to keep it from automatically changing 03-01 to 03-Jan ?!? I've tried formatting the cells and changing it to 'general' but soon as I hit enter it keeps changing back to a date format. If you leave the info in the cell, then try to format it to 'general' it changes 03-01 to 37989 !!! Anyway to keep it from auto formatting...?

EDIT: 03-01 isn't a date in this case, that's why I don't want it to display 03-Jan

Try formatting the cell as text before entering 03-01.

Bah! It does work...I tried pre-formatting it to general before and it didn't work but pre-formatting it to text does work! Thanks a bunch....

in case you have this problem with anything else, you can always put a single quote (') in front of anything that you want excel to treat as text (regardless of the current cell's formatting).
