MS Equation Editor 3 and Via KT400

This is a long shot.

Since I upgraded my systems (see systems rig link) to the GigaByte Mobos Equation editor has ceased to function. Does anyone else use this app? Has anyone else encountered dificulties with it? Currently it simply dies and refuses to run, previously it would run but apparently the basic templates were messed up, all of the loctations of the various components were wrong.

I am running Office 97 & Win98Se, I have reinstalled Office 97 but not the OS. I have installed new Via drivers but debating wether I should drop back to 4.35 for Win98.
