MS-DOS Compatibility Mode with KT7-RAID

I just bough a KT7-RAID, and threw together a PC out of old spare parts until I buy the rest of the machine. I used 2 850 MB Connor drives in a RAID-0 array and Win98 SE says that they are using compatibility mode. Everything runs REALY slow. Also, my PS/2 Compatible Mouseport seems to be having some sort of a conflict as my mouse cursor doesn't even show up. Also, Late last night the video card whacked out and would only boot to 640x480x16colors. I removed the HPT controller, the Video card, and the mouse port and rebooted. Everything seemed to come up fine and istall. I got 1280x1024x32b and the RAID card installed without a hitch. I rebooted and BAM!, no video at all. I hear th MB posting and the array doing what it should, but no video. I plugged the monitor into another PC and it works like a champ. I am headed to my place now for an hour lunch armed with a different video card. If anyone has any ideas as to why that happened I would appreciate your input.

DOS Compatability means that there is a problem with the 32-bit Protected Mode Driver for the IDE Channels. Its possible that this driver and the old Conner Drives just get along together. As far as the Video goes, could just be the usual ABIT fine quality :disgust:

Anyone else have a solution? I know what compatibility mode means, I am just wondering why it would be using it. I installed 98 to the array without a hitch it seemed. I installed the drivers for the HPT370 and they seemed to work OK. The main problem is the video though. I tried another card at lunch time and same thing happened. That points me to the Mobo as the problem. I thought Abit made some pretty good boards. I mean, most of the hardware sites I go to gave the KT7/KT7-RAID great reviews. I think most gave the HPT370 PCI card good reviews too.

Anyway, after switching the vid card, I get the same thing, No video. The PC seems to still boot fine, but I can't see it. I get no beep codes (Other than the single beep during POST), and everything SOUNDS like it boots fine. I can't even get to the BIOS. I am going to try an ISA card after work and see if I can get to the BIOS and load fail safe defaults and see what that will do.
