Did she ever say she was married to *the* Brooks? She only said Mr. Brooks. Worldpages.com returns 2001 listings for people in the U.S. with a last name of brooks.

You can't blame the mods for being kinda skeptical about this Brooks, Tomfoolery situation. But they should have watched for a bit before they jumped to conclusions.

Well it wasn't meant to be an exact count. :) If you can find a better number feel free to do so. My point was however, that it was a bit preliminary to assume that she's trying to coming off as Brooks' wife cause a lot of people have the name brooks.

Trolls are coming out of the woodwork today. Try it again, and your real nickname goes too.

miss is single.

mrs is married.

Ms. is a women's rights thing where it is marriage neutral. it's a relatively new abbreviation, since Ms. is not short for Miss. also, Mrs has a Mr in it which is somewhat "ownership" related. so Ms is also a independence thing.

pronounce Ms, Mizzzzz, as opposed to Miss, and you can avoid calling someone single married, or the other way around.
