Arrrgh! I can't delete the file extension to avoid the problem. Take a look. What can I do to convince XP to let me handle my own extensions?
Edit: To be clear, XP still treats the file as a shortcut even with the changes you can see in the image. If I could, I'd delete the file extension and start a fresh one but it apparently can't be done.
Edit 2: I uninstalled Access (not using it these days) for now, but that's hardly an acceptable permanent solution.
