He has a Mk2 n/a MR2 with a 1MZ V6 swap (going twin T25 turbo). At first you may think meh, but then I saw a video.

Microcontroller programmed for the shifting will be interfaced with a Haltech standalone for fuel cut on upshift, could also do RPM/VSS calculation to shift when speed/RPM lines up for the gears to avoid forcing through synchros. A bit more complicated than I'd want to run on my car, but shit like this is what he's in school for...pretty awesome stuff.

wow! Thats pretty cool how it uses compressed air to shit. heres another video
Would he be able to market and sell this as a Vendor? Or just WAY to complicated for the average bear to install?

That's his proof of concept on an S54 n/a transmission - IIRC that had the ability to have two gears engaged at the same time, so he decided to use the factory H pattern / linkage but control it with pneumatics. Here's his thread:

Ask him if the thinks the suddenness of the shift will affect synchro life dramatically?

Pretty cool, sound like my autococker paintball marker.

I have a friend out in San Diego that works for a company that was doing these systems for disabled people. He said that one of the companies was based out of Rome and he was able to go over there for a few weeks to do some training a few months ago.

Needs moar flow control! Easy enough to do.

I would love to see this done with electrical solenoids instead of pistons... but weight/packaging gets to be really crappy really fast.

Still, very awesome!
