What's interesting is that if what you say is true, then the Olympic bodybuilding competition should be interesting since Weider played an extremely prominent role in procuring recognition by ICOG for bodybuilding. When you compare the gold medal bodybuilder with the top ranks of the pros, it should be fairly apparent where the drugs are.

Science and supplements are FAR better today than they were even 15 years ago. Think about the average gym 20 years ago and compare it to the very specialized equipment that exists in abundance today. When you also factor in the advances in nutrition science and sports medicine (for recovery from injuries and fatigue), there is considerable basis to assume that not all the gains since Arnold's peak are the cause of steroids.
You can also see differences in the people themselves. The records for all sorts of sporting events are being consistently broken, which is not attributable to drugs but to superior training methods, superior diet and supplementation, and superior genetics (ie., the people with the right genes are going into the right sports).
