What would you think about us anandfolk making our own avatars? Alot of people ask and talk about the possibility but .......Thanks for taking your time with this.

This should probably go in "Forum Issues" but...

It would drain a lot of resources from the servers. Even 1000 little gifs is a lot of time and space for a forum server as active as this one.

Edit: Zuni didn't want to add an option that checked the box in the search page as coming from the last forums you visited. ( I didn't explain that very well ). He said it was a waste of server resources. Think how much more work personalized avatars would be for a server.

bring this to forum issues. but the last 10,000 times they told us no...so you decide where to go with it. and besides the mods don;t handle that. zuni does.

Plus, we want all the avatars to match. It'll be chaotic if we could choose our own avatars.

Why would we want the avatars to match? How is it chaotic to allow everyone to have their own? Chaos is not equal to diversity.

Anyway, server resources prevent it. The servers are strained already, don't want to add to the problems.

Why the hell... are so many people obsessed with what they look like? On a BBS or other wise? Sheiit, you're still who you are no matter what your avitar looks like.

Why couldn't we just have a box where we could put the URL of the avatar we want? That wouldn't take up any space and would not waste resources because the people's individual computers would be looking for the avatars.

Just an idea that I think could work. 😉

Then you'll end up with a page full of broken links when all the ISPs & web hosting places get pissed off. Remember the amount of traffic we're dealing with here.
