Dude....WTF is your problem? Do you not understand the concept of a platform?

The camry, highlander, RX300, sienna, and avalon all share the same platform.
The TT, golf, jetta, beetle, cabrio, and A3 all share th same platform.
The pilot, oddesy, and mdx all share the same platform.
The suburban, tahoe, silverado, sierra, escalade, avalanche, and H2 all share the same platform.

So what you're telling me is that these vehicles have the EXACT SAME frame? EXACTLY THE SAME?
No, he's saying they share the same platform. I would think repeating it 4 times would get it through your thick skull.

No, I'm not. But I am saying that they are built off of the same platform.

Well, since a difference in the frame would constitute a different platform, these vehicles with the same platform must have the same frames, correct? Unless the marketing teams, brand teams, and everyone else that I work for are all liars?

Then what the hell are you constituting a "change in frame"??????

The new Saab 9-3 is based off of the Epsilon platform, as is the Chevy Malibu Maxx. Now they have different frames for sure, but they use the same platform.

There's the problem. Marketing and sales guys don't know jack about how vehicles are designed and built.

Well, we're trained. And when your trainer who has been training for 3 years says that platform is another word describing the frame, you don't fvcking argue. Especially since you're in the training environment; if we knew it all, we wouldn't need to be trained.

Vehicles with different bodies and the same chassis/running gear, are the same platform.

Vehicles with substantially modified chassis/running gear create a new platform, based on the old one, but still new.

Consider the original Ford Mustang; it was based on the Falcon, but modified to the point that the chassis/running gear of the Mustang became a new platform.

Nope, I think not. My very first response to this thread stated that they share the same platform. I knew I was right, for cryin' out loud.

Nik is a good little employee and follows blindly. :)

I follow the automotive industry quite a bit.

You come into this thread at the end and call my arguement stupid? Why don't you crawl back under your rock, dirtbag? You have no idea WTF I was talking about anyway. Hey, Mom's calling you; dinner is on the table. Go now.

oh well, it was fun reading posts by both of you. Anyway, Nik, let me know what the responds from your ops manager ok? and since when you change job, i thought you work helpdesk?

back to the topic .. the title should have read "Mr H2, meet Mr Ram", so i'm curious, what will happen to the Ram if it collides with a real hummer instead of H2??

MichealD: Thoes two players were in a huge hit in last nights hockey game. Paul Kariya made a pass and was looking at his pass instead of where he was going, Scott Stevens comes up and absolutly plows him over and skates away. Paul Kariya gets knocked out and has to leave the ice for some time.

Never believe everything you're told. For bolstering such intelligence, you lack all kinds of common sense.

Yes i did call it stupid. You were right, and I knew that long before even links were brought out etc etc etc.... So yes i knew what you were talking about... Hard to imagine someone can be as smart and all wise as you.
I just found it rather humorous that since you were fighting with someone in the thread that you just assumed that anything posted was about you and not about the topic at hand.

I used to. But I saw things coming and couldn't take any more of the bullsh|t and quit. Last month, the entire team was fired and their jobs moved to Canada.

Again. :disgust:
