Just recently I upgraded my ATI Radeon AIW drivers as well as the dvd player and multimedia center. I also upgraded my Philips Acoustic Edge drivers. In the process I also upgraded to DirectX 8.0a. Now when I play most any mpeg or avi it runs in fast forward without any sound. This happens if I play the files through the ATI file player or Windows Media Player. Any ideas as to what to check?
