MPEG audio synchronization problem

Greets to all -

The one main problem I have editing MPEG2/VCD movies is that now and then I'll run into a movie where the audio track 'strays' out of sync. That is, it'll be fine at the beginning of the movie, but way off by the end. This happens with all the editors, Vegas Video, VidStudio, MediaStudio and Premiere. The Players (PowerDVD, WinDVD) play them just fine.

I guess what I'm hoping for is a suggestion for a repair program. VCDGear doesn't do anything, but that's heading in the right direction. Something that would do a MPEG --> MPEG copy, but go one step beyond what VCDGear does.

Any thoughts, appreciated.
