I'm trying to open some captured files in mpeg2 format with Premiere Pro but I can't seem to find a way to do it.
Does anyone have any idea whether and how this can be done?
describe the source of the files in detail. I've done this in Premiere many times and the only time it has been a problem was when the Mpeg2 files was really just a VOB file renamed to MPG.
Premiere handles Mpeg2 files just fine, but can be picky about the file extension.
Plus, before the timeline will play smoothly, it will have to be rendered to DV format. (you just hit the Enter key and wait patiently)
They are captured with TV card at DVD format (mpeg2 codec(720x576)). Bitrate is the standard 6000kbps
I had that problem with Studio 8 too, while in Ulead's Videostudio I can edit them.
