mp3pro sucks, I need help converting things

I borrowed a copy of time life's Classical Thunder series from a friend this summer and encoded it as mp3pro to see if it was any good. At the time, I thought it was great. Then I heard some of the same songs as 192kpbs mp3s, and I think the mp3pro files I have suck. Would I be wasting my time converting them from mp3pro to 192kbps mp3s?

Damn....well, I guess I'll have to live with 'em since my friend is in Alaska now and I'm in Colorado. If anyone else has any opinions relevant to my first post, feel free to add them.
