MP3/WMA/AAC to ATRAC conversion [Now: SonicStage is Teh Sucks]

I have a fairly small library of MP3s that I'm trying to move to my Sony NW-HD1, which of course doesn't use any format besides ATRAC.

However, the terrible, terrible SonicStage program doesn't allow me to convert anything besides its own proprietary file format into... its own... other... proprietary file format... silly, isn't it?

Anyway, I'm trying to find a good conversion tool, because I spent wa-a-ay too much on this player, and wa-a-ay too recently to give up on it. Suggestions?

Eh, I found the Sony batch-MP3-conversion-software...

So let's just change this to a discussion of how awful SonicStage is.

It's horrible. WTF is with that interface design? I mean, GOD! I can't even change the track number, when it messed it up while importing the tracks into the library!

Edit: ...aaaaand... the audio conversion chokes on a file. Every time.

God, I hate Sony.

i think there are Real Player plugins

Sonic Stage ain't that bad . . . make sure you have the latest version

MP3 to ATRAC loses noticeable sound quality . . . you really wanna go from CD directly to ATRAC.

Have you checked for a firmware update to make it play MP3s? Many Sony music products that were before just ATRAC now offer MP3 support via a firmware update.

i think you might actually come to like ATRAC . . . the sound quality is actually better than MP3, IMO. . . . and the Sony players HW is top notch. . . . software is [much] better than before but still laggin a bit.

Well, upgrading from SS 2.1 to SS 3.4 seems to have helped... immensely... but I'm still skeptical about SS. It's probably just teh suck in disguise now...
