all my mp3s had incorrect song infos. now that i've been using itunes, i edit the infos within itunes. the problem is... im thinking of moving away from itunes. how can i save itunes's songs infos directly onto the mp3 files?? it would sux if i have to edit all the songs individually again

iTunes edits ID3 tags.

The only thing that doesn't transfer to the MP3 would be artwork and ratings.

it's also possible Itunes made a copy of your mp3 files in it's own directory - so you could have your original files in their original locations, and a 2nd copy of each played file, updated by Itunes, in the default Itunes library directory.

So iTunes will identify and label regular MP3's? I have been planning to rip all of my stuff in higher quality MP3's and move away from iTunes, but manually labeling all of the stuff from my French, German, Japanese, and Chinese CD's would be a huge pain in the arse.

I still prefer MP3Tag for batch ID3 updates and file renaming.

I will check that one out, thanks. :) Need to figure out what I want to use to rip and encode all of my stuff, now.

Is EAC/LAME still the combo of choice?
