mp3 split, merge

i have a few lectures on MP3 which are a few hours long. i want split them into 1/2 sessions, but i would like to overlap like 10 seconds.

what is an easy free software to use? I tried Audacity, but it seems to cumbersome to use for this application.

thanks Sid59, i just tried it. it splits files well, but how do i overlap 10 secs or so?

If you can't get that program to work try Audacity (it is free and open source):

I tried audacity...but i did not find an easy way to do it. only way i know how is to delete everything but the 1st half hour, then save. Undo it then go the next section and delete everything else and continue doing it till i get all my 1/2hr sections....any better way than this?

ps - audacity is awesome.
