Besides Amazon and Itunes?

I don't want to pay for a monthly subscription. Just want to pay per album or song and be done with it.

Since you mention it specifically, Amazon does not have a monthly subscription.

Just in case.

Those are the 2 only major DRM free, non subscription ones I know of with huge selections. Maybe Rhapsody?

Is something wrong with Amazon's service? I've found it to be excellent. I haven't bought any iTunes music since they went DRM free, but that has more to do with Amazon's quality advantage.

I like their service they just don't have what I'm looking for.

Yeah, that happens. Some artists don't like the DRM free-ness.

What are you looking for? Assuming it's a mainstream artist, if Amazon doesn't have it I doubt anybody else will. Maybe check the artist's website and see if they offer a DRM-free download of the album.

The artists and the record labels. They're trying to improve their selection as best they can..

You could go the iTunes route and strip the music of DRM afterward. It's a hassle and isn't legal (though I doubt the artists really care, as long as you paid for it). Just stating a possibility.

lol...i actually have the CD I am looking for...doh!

I haven't looked at many of my CDs in a long time. Heck, I sold a ton of them awhile back so I didn't remember what I had. I looked at the cd cover and i was like, "i think i might have that!"

You could go with the semi-legal, but not really, Russian mp3 sites. I'm assuming you want to be 100% legal though.

Most of the artists don't really care. It's the RIAA that'll get on you for doing anything to your music.

"You copied it to your MP3 player? ILLEGAL!"

*sigh*
