Somewhere in here was a patch to enable high quality playability in Windows XP for mp3s. Can someone give me the link please?
 
I think he means higher quality encoding. WMP8 encodes MP3s, but is limited to 56Kbps bitrate (unless you buy the plug-in). I remember seeing a registry patch that enabled up to 192Kbps encoding with MP3s and WMP8. In any case, I suggest you look into using the LAME MP3 encoder instead.
