MP3 is here for at least a couple more years.

MP3Pro requires re-encoding songs and if you don't have the originals then you loose quality.

It also requires devices capable of decoding the format, which, many MP3 hardware players can not do. Only a few offer firmware upgrades and then you have a Catch22 because there needs to be a demand for MP3Pro for the manuf. to update the firmware and the users won't demand MP3Pro unless they can find the files and use them on their devices.

Bottom Line, MP3 pro isn't a big enough leap forward to be worth the hassle of re-encoding tons of files. Something will come along to change that, but, it'll be a while.
