ok I bought a refurb creative zen v plus 2gb almost a year ago, its stopped working twice and this second time i cant get it to start again, so i need an mp3 player.

im not really sure where to start looking though. id like a 4gb model, maybe with a memory slot. my main os is linux, id like to spend under $100, preferably under $80. i was looking at the sansa line (clip, or fuze) but what else is worth looking at? or where can i find reviews or go shopping to get good prices on these things? newegg? amazon? mwave?

any help to get me started would be appreciated :)

If I had to buy another one it would be an iAudio. Not sure how they work with linux. I'll see what I can dig up.

its what im leaning towards. i went to target, they had the 4gb on sale for $59.99 but its sold out. amazon has it for 69.99 and i have prime anyway, so its only a couple bucks more.

ill look around at these, thanks for the suggestion :)
edit: the iaudio players dont have a sdhc slot. the geek in me wants the cowon o2 for the "ooooh" factor, though, i dunno if i can talk myself into waiting and upping the budget for it

bet i could if it only had wifi, too *sigh*

I would suggest the Cowon D2 to you because it has a SDHC slot and I've heard plenty good things about it, but it's not in your price range. Unless you have lots of movies you wanna watch on the go...I don't suggest getting the Cowon O2 as there are many FW issues that still need to be resolved atm.
