MP3 players that stop working

I made the apparent mistake of buying a RIO product on a whim off the Hot Deals boards, and now that it's Fvcked, I look to the customer comments boards on the InterWeb and find out that there are many pissed off people out there cause they have bogus players as well.... ANyone out on ATOT got this problem and figure out any good way to either fix the problem or get evil retribution on what is basically an inherent design flaw with these players..........

Oddly, my Carbon sustained some injury from a 3 foot fall yesterday morning - the jog dial got pushed into the body. I've surgically opened up the case and will crazy glue the jog dial back on, but its original flimsiness and the ridiculous 90 day warranty are a definite annoyance.

I have a RIO Cali that I run with multiple times a week. It is two years old now and has been through falls, rainstorms, sweat, heat, etc. The thing still works good as new.

Oh yeah, it is a Carbon 5gb. Sad thing is, I didnt' do a damn thing to cause this. I used it, turned it off, put it away, go it back out later, and nothing but a flashing battery sign, then the dreaded updater screen........A few dozen attempts to re-install the firmware and nothing yet............I'll keep trying till I toss it........

my first nitrus didn't work out of the box. but i exchanged it and i haven't had much trouble with the replacement for the last year or so.

Its hte HD.... Don't ever buy gadgets with less than a 1 year warrenty. There are known problems with Rio Carbon Hds....
