MP3 Players....Suggestion

From Black Friday, I ended up buying both the 128M MPIO DMK128M and the 256M BUSLink 3in1. Just wondering what people's view on this is. I will end up paying $40 for the 128M and $80 for the 256M, so the price is about the same/MB.

Here are the links from buy.com
Buslink 256M and
MPIO 128M.

So far this is what I found to be each's strength:

Buslink
  • Builtin USB port, so no need to lug a cable around
    More memory
    USB Drive capability
    Voice recording (not really important....)

MPIO
  • Better rating on the Internet (Buslink has all of 2 negative reviews only)
    Possible WMA capability
Shuffle Play and other play mode (Buslink can only play alphabetically, I think)

Any idea which I ought to return?

you really want your sig to work out for you huh?

and BTW, I second (?) the Ipod... 😀
only thing is he doesn't have one!

Indeed it is. However, If you have to go with one of those I'd pick the MPIO simply because of the play mode flexibility. Playing in alphabetized order only would get annoying quick.

Thanks flxnimprtmscl and Soybomb for your views. I really do like the 256M because of the USB port, it's just that MPIO's website and reviews seems to be much better (Buslink has no real reviews except 2 and they were both negative). I do like to have shuffle play on my 10G Nomad, but I can also see with 128M (30'ish songs), there aint much to shuffle.

Does anyone know if either company is that big? Last thing I need is for the company to kneel over.

Ok, not all of us has the $300+ disposable income. Come on folks.

THINK ABOUT THE SAVINGS! It's way cheaper/MB to go with the iPod. About 11x cheaper. $0.03/MB assuming a 10GB is $300, which it ISN'T. Or $0.31/MB for a 128MB player or 256MB player that you have.

Secondly...who needs to plug into the USB port when EVERY MP3 YOU OWN is on your iPod? Never plug it in again!!

And if you get refurb...it's brand new, and cheaper than $300 and you don't feel so stupid.

For all your ipod advocates, how does ipod handle during jobs and workouts? I am a bit hesitant on how the vibration might affect the harddrive.
