Mp3 Players - h320

How good is it. How much did you get it from and where? MOST IMPORTANTLY: HOW GOOD IS THE VIDEO PLAYBACK? HOW BIG IS THE PLAYBACK SCREEN FOR WATCHING VIDEOS?

(Contrary to other threads i welcome fanbois/haters to state their opinion there...but dont get carried away...i need more opinions on best mp3 player.)

Being an h120 owner, I'm inherently biased toward iriver products for their quality. However, the h320 is built like a brick, both in size and weight. If I were you, I would definitely give the Cowon iAudio x5 a serious look, as that player is basically an h320 with a better form factor and smoother video playback (at the sacrifice of a bit of screen resolution.)

actually, i dont believe the x5 is going to come with a remote here in the states. but ive heard they are going to sell it seperately or the one from the m3 is also compatible. the remote isnt bad, but with the controls/screen on the actual device this time, the remote isnt a necessity.

I have one, it works fine for tv shows and music videos. Not so great for fast action.

im gonna mostly be watching family guy etc on it...if its comparable to psps video playback, i will have NO probs with it at all.

I can think of plenty of possibilities... particularly boring class, long ride to work/school, frequent flyer, wants to watch without disturbing SO/roommate, etc.

The actual image quality of video is very nice (so long as you reencode it with a decent bitrate), but it is only 10fps. For animation or slower paced video, it is good enough. Anything with significant amounts of action will be very choppy though.

To convert the video, I'd reccomend either iriverter or doing it yourself manually through virtualdub. Try converting a few and playing them back, that should give you an indication of how it will look on the player itself.
