mp3 players at CES ... when will they hit the streets?

I would like a DVD and MP3 player for the home. While there are some out now, most have some major problems such as not being able to play back mp3's which are VBR encoded. I am hopeful that during the CES, many new ones will be announced. I have the same sort of hopes for CAR players. So, how long do we have to wait for the new stuff to hit the streets?

The ReQuest looks like a cool system, but it is not what I am looking for.
I want something for the home that will play DVD's and varable bit rate encoded mp3's burned onto a CD-R. AIWA makes one now, but I think it is picky about some VBR's and has really slow access times.
