MP3 player

I got a flash-based 1GB mp3 player, removable SD card is how it stores everything. Only about half of that is filled up, but I get a "Could not create file/directory" error when trying to copy mp3s to it. It's got about 135 files on it right now, when I delete some I can copy new ones onto it, but only up to 135 total.

It's formatted in FAT right now, think that's a problem with FAT itself, or the player?

Edit:

Bah, n/m...found the answer on their site:

"I am not able to put more songs onto it though it has more capacity left. (For example 1 GB SD card)
Please format the SD card in FAT32 format. It is because the format of FAT16 has a limitation of the files supported. "

I wonder why they didn't pre-format the card for FAT32 though, although it's a standard Sandisk card, so perhaps they didn't bundle it until afterwards.

Common occurance.
My mp3 player was not formatted when I got it, even though it can only work with FAT16. I wasted many hours of copying and recopying before I figured out FAT32 was screwing it up.
