MP3 player

My regular old CD player seems to be dying (I get less than 2 hours play time per set of batteries now). So I have decided that I wanna go to a mp3 player next. Since my budget is small I am thinking CD player that does MP3 cds is the best option but there are quite a few out there and I don't really know which one to go with.

A few options I'd like is 1)the ability to play playlists 2)the ability to randomly play any song (ie I can start it up and randomly play/skip through all the mp3s on the CD).

If there is a HDD version at around 10GB that could do that for $150 or less then that might be an option as well but I highly doubt I can get one that cheap.

Thanks for any advice.

Anybody??

The only electronics store I can get to is Best Buy so if I dont' like what I get its a restocking fee, otherwise it will be an online purchase which means returning it will also cost money, just looking for some advice from someone who has used one so that I at least avoid something crappy from the get go.

Thanks.

I just got a Sony DNF400 MP3/CD player. I think it's 80 bucks or so retail and comes with a remote and some other goodies. So far I absolutely love it, it's never skipped, it sounds great, and seems pretty solid.

just got my iriver 350 today thanks to ebay. anyone know why the 400 has a lower msrp price when it comes with a newer/better remote and a car kit?

ah, the 400 has no buttons on the main unit itself, everything is controlled thru the remote.

wow, playing with my 350 now, this thing is loaded with features. and to answer the original poster's questions, yes it can play playlists and random play everything on the disc.

The iriver is expensive but from you guys and the online reviews it sounds like a pretty awesome player.
Does it seem pretty well built from a durability point of view?
