I was uploading some music this morning to an old MPIO DMG mp3 player of mine and something odd happened. The mpio software that I have been using for a couple years now froze on me and everything just kind of locked up. To get the player to work I had to remove and replace the battery as well as take the memory card out of the slot. After I did this, the player worked fine. However, when I put the card back in the slot, the player won't boot up at all. The back light comes on but no text is visible.
I've formatted the memory card using a card reader but the player still won't work when the card is in the slot. When I take the card out; the player works fine. I don't have another card handy so I can't try another one right now.
Has anyone else ever had a problem similar to this? Could the memory card SLOT have been fried some how? FYI: I'm able to put the card in a card reader and transfer files without a problem so I don't think that it is the card.
THE BIGGER PROBLEM:
I also fried my Rio Forge player this morning as well trying to upload music files from the same computer (Gateway laptop). I'm thinking that there must be a problem with the USB port because this unit also froze up completely half way through the file transfer but now won't power up at all.
Any ideas what in the world has gone wrong? I've been uploading files from this computer to my MPIO for quite a while now but my rio forge is only 2 weeks old and I've always had problems uploading from the laptop (on my home system everything works great)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
