My Dad has gotten in the habit of loading all his music on his computer in Windows Media Player. He seems to enjoy playing it back frequently. But he has to be in front of his computer to do so. So I was thinking that for father's day I might get him an MP3 player for all that music. But I don't know enough about WMP or about MP3 players to select one.

Am I looking for...a Zune? D:

I think all SanDisk mp3 players support sync and playlist creation through wmp natively. Zunes aren't produced anymore, so you would be looking at second hand players there.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks! Plus it supports recording radio!

He doesn't have/want a smartphone?
Nope. Contract costs are to be avoided. (He mostly gets the music CDs from Goodwill.)

You could look into one of the super cheap (for a smartphone) off contract WP8 devices. I saw the Lumia 521 (iirc) was close to $100, no contract. At that point it can double as an iPod Touch like device...

Any players that support MTP will work, including WP7 devices. (iPods don't)
