The Nomad Jukebox is pretty bulky. I've read some reviews that the Archos players suck. Remember that they use USB interface so it'll take you a few hours to transfer 10, 15, 20GB over USB. I'd recommend the iPod but it's a little out of your price range. The 5GB version costs $299. You can pick up the original 5GB iPod for $249.99 but you'll need some proprietary software to get it to work on your computer. Transferring MP3s over Firewire as opposed to USB is much better.
