What's a good mp3 player for linux that will run smoothly on a p150mhz laptop? =) I've used GQmpeg(mpg123) and xaudio? They both skip A LOT.. xaudio skips a bit less.. but still a lot. skips every couple of seconds... :frown:

XMMS. But on a P150 if you do anything else at the same time you're probably gonna have at least occasional skips.

Try vanilla mpg123, and compile it for something like ESD if you have it installed. That will reduce the skipping. I get about 4-5% CPU usage on a 400MHz P2, that's about 16-20 Mcycles/sec. A P150 should easily be able to handle that.

FreeAmp is nice too. Nice skins available. It doesn't "remember" where you last were playing songs though so I tend to use XMMS.
