I'm looking for a light, cheap, mp3 player for the starting golf season.

What I want:
2GB or higher
Decent interface
Good battery life
Acceptable sound quality
Under $100

What I don't care about:
Impressing people
Video

My mp3/wma collection is old, most of it is self-ripped and is DMA-free, so that should not be an issue. I can pick up a Sansa e250 for around $80 shipped and am leaning in that direction. Anyone have any better ideas?

Easily ignored. The first thing you learn to do on ATOT is to mentally filter out the idiots.

i hadn't really had much experience with mp3 players before working at best buy... but after having a 2gb ipod nano... and playing with a sansa at work... if i had to actually spend money on an mp3 player i'd probably get the sansa.

that woot deal sounds amazing though.

Definitely take a look at Samsung's YP-K5.

Comes in 2GB or 4GB flash models. Great sound and 25-30 hours of battery life.

2GB model is right around your budget.

Though I have an iPod and considered somewhat an Apple fanboy, I would go with the Sansa. I really like the large screen, you will be able to look at pictures and the FM radio that is in it. I do not like the stereotypes about Apple fanboys just praising Apple blindly. Sansa = Two thumbs up.

The Vibez is nice. I debated on getting one but wanted more space and ended up with a Creative Zen Vision M
