I've got an enormous folder full of mp3s that arent properly named, just ripped and not named right in any order or anything, some are named sort of right, some just 01-123123.mp3 and crap, what tool can I use to auto-detect the filename and album and track, and rename them accordingly? My goal is to get these into a Artist - Album / Artist - TRACK - Name.mp3 format, what can I use to get this easier on me? There are at least 230 of them

I don't believe iTunes will fix broken tags, it only organizes folders according to existing tag information.

I use MusicBrainz myself; it can be annoying sometimes (trying to retag MP3s as belonging to a "Greatest Hits" album or some random compilation instead of the actual CD it came off of) but is one of the more effective ones out there, and free. 🙂
