mp3 music buzzes when trying to play

My sound quality seems to buzz when I play mp3 above a certain volume level. I am not sure what it could be. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS & Logitech x530 speakers.

The weird thing is that I have a TV tuner and I play DVD on my computer as well. Those two are perfectly normal.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks

Sorry, I overlooked this comment but the answer is yes. Music from the CD is the same as well.

And, assuming the MP3 files are also on CDRs, the problem is most likely your CD drive. If your MP3 files are NOT on CDRs, then the problem is something common to both the CD drive and the MP3s - that is your sound card's amp/preamp. To confirm that fault isolation, try different speakers - i.e., headphones, or borrowed speakers.

CD drive is not the problem because I have issues with mp3 files I obtain from over the internet. So there isn't an issue with ripping CDs, plus when I put them in my portable mp3 player, I have no issues playing them from my car.

So it leaves either the sound card or the speakers...I do not have another pair of speakers lying around the house.

Could you please explain to me the amp/preamp issue you think it may be?

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, you won't be able to play music at the max volume of the X-530s (or any speakers) without suffering some noise. The only way to get better sound quality is to get better speakers. What volume starts making the sound distort?

One thing to note is that I have no problems when I watch TV or DVD's turning the volume above 1/3rd and it's clean...

OK - your MSI Neo 4 has pretty decent on board audio. You can do this . . . remove the Audigy card, and set the board for on board sound. Then try all your play backs and see if it makes a difference.

Audio problems are usually pretty easy to fault isolate because you can control so many factors physically.
