I guess I'm the only one that thinks it sounds like crap.

No offense to you Marty, but it just sounds like two people talking over eachother. I find it distracting and unappealing.

I hate mashups with every bone in my body.

I've heard hundreds of them and have heard less than ten that I can listen to without wanting to gouge my eardrums out with rusty nails or whatever else is thin, sharp and handy.

I don't mind a couple of the Jay z/Linkin park ones. That's about it for me. I heard this one set of songs the other day, it was 50 cent's lyrics mixed with 80s songs. It was absolutely the worst thing I've ever heard in my life.

Hmm... when I think mashup, I think of separating vocals from each track such that they don't collide over each other as you did. Say, take the verse from the JJ song and at the appropriate time start mixing in the SR song's chorus while killing JJ's vocals.

The one time I actually made my own mashup, I had Eminem rapping over Britney's Spears', Oops I Did It Again... hilarious.

No offense taken. This is my first try at it. I just put them together because I thought they were similiar and wanted to see if I was right. In a way I guess this thread's more of a "Look how these songs match" type of thing.

As far as the "mashup" definition, I didnt know what else to call it

Meh, not a big deal really. I was just trying to give you tips if you wanted to improve upon your work. :)

If you want a "Look how these songs match" type term, you could call it "Nickelback."

Example:

Hey man, check out this "Nickelback" I just made.
-or-
The "Nickelbackery" between these two songs is overwhelming!
-or-
Wow, this band just pulled a "Nickelback!"
:D

That's what gave me the idea to do it. :)
