MP3 Filename to ID3 Tag

Is there any software out there that will populate an MP3's ID3 data based on the MP3's file name?

i use tag & rename, its incredible

mp3tag looks like this - using wildcard notation http://www.mp3tag.de/en/images/sht_optcon1.png

tag & rename does that, but with actual ID3 vs filenames displayed in the background, so you can see when you are changing the wildcards... also it has options like automatic capitalization, automatic capitalize only 1st letter, etc etc

Yea, I've tried quite a few - godfather, mp3tag and some others and tag & rename is just much better than all of them.

dbPowerAmp can do it too. It's probably not the best, but I already have it for transcoding and the retagging works "good enough" for me.

you can get foobar to do just about anything -- including this

provided you want to tinker with it for god knows how long. (not just this, i mean to get foobar going the way you want it to)

for a simple, yet effective program, check out the first two mentioned.
