where can i find the steps to these processes. i wanna implement them in matlab. i dont have access to ieee xplore (that i know of).

and on a side note, why does the mdct look like an upside-down dct? or did i mess up something.

And if you are really stuck, LAME is open source.

They are licensed algorithms, so you'd probably have to pay to have access. Try Ogg/Vorbis instead; you can get source code and translate from C.

You can always VPN into the university or departmental intranet and use that as a gateway to access journals. It's what I did when I wanted to access papers off-campus.
