I recorded some internet radio and it made on 8 hour long mp3 file. I need a good/easy/and maybe free program to edit it. I would like a nice product that shows a linear graphic of the noise so I can zero in on the silent gaps inbetween songs and export those sections I want one at a time.

I own a Audigy 2ZS Sound card. i have no idea if any of their software will do what I want and I have never played around with audio files so I am a complete N00B.

Suggestions?? Thanks

You can open the file with Audacity, and break it into smaller chunks. The program can be found at sourceforge.

I noticed that program suggested in the free alts to warez in the sticky at the top of the forum. I guess I will download it at home and give it a try. Mainly I want something easy.
