mp3 changing kbps in middle of song problem

Hey,

I am on my parents computer and when i download an mp3 it will play for about 10-15 seconds before turning to a bunch of static and high pitched bad beeps and crazy sounds. At the time it changes to the noise the bitrate of the mp3 changes from like 128 or higher down to 32 kbps. I have no idea why and I am sure thats where the problem lies. Perhaps its some error during the download but i doubt that. I am sure the songs I am downloading are fine because i can play them on my own computer no problem.

I am using winamp3. I have tried windows media player, and some older winamp versions but the same problem occurs. I have an old Ensoniq AudioPCI soundcard on the machine. I think thats the exact model but if there is no such card I will have to look closer at it.

I am at a loss of what to do with this problem, help please!

Might just be a poor quality variable bitrate mp3 that someone didn't encode properly.

I originally thought that too, but im getting the most popular download from kazaa lite, like 100 users have it already so im sure its a good song, its gotta be a problem on my end. Plus i have tried like 3 songs now and its the same for all of them.

I get those files all the time off Kazaa, i think the RIAA plants them online. Get them for the more popular songs.

Hey, this is a new form of copy protection, people rip stuff and never check it, lol, if u keep rip software up to date that don't happen though, i found it very hard to find a good version of Godsmack - Serenity if that happens to be what your trying to get.
