mp3 cdplayer vs. mp3 player

which one is better? the cd player can hold more songs in mp3 format (650mb cd), and it can also play regular cds. The mp3 player is more compact, but could only have around 30 songs in a 128 mb memory card. hmm.... decisions....

If I couldn't get something like an iPod or a Zen with several GBs of storage then I'd just get an MP3-CD Player.

Like this one.

I'd go for the mp3 player for the added portability. Though I'd go for one with 256 megs of memory, just because my mp3s are higher bitrate.

I had the same dilemma awhile ago too...I tried a NIKE/PHILLIPS MP# CD player..no dice. Way too bulky. I was also going to go the mp3 player route until i looked into minidisc.

Minidiscs aren't the greatest thing, but it does offer very good sound quality @ 5hrs per disc. Sound quality @ high is awesome. Battery life is very good as well. I bought a 12 pack for like $5-7 the other day.

I'll get an IPOD when I get some real cash.

well, I am planning to spend around a hundred bucks on either the cdplay or the mp3player. there is a sale at circuitcity where the mp3cdplayer is around $40 and the mp3 player is around 90 bucks.
I have a minidisc player, but i got it a long time ago where recording music is recorded in real time 🙁.

Does ipod hook up to PC via USB?

Also, can you store other things on it besides MP3s?

edit: Like documents and stuff? Sort of use it as a USB drive?

edit: Yes, you can use the Ipod as a portable firewire HDD.

And if its a 3rd generation iPod, you can hook up to it with USB (USB cable not included). USB2 is highly recommended, but USB 1.1 will work. It'll just be REALLY, REALLY slow.

Which ones use firewire? I suppose I could just look it up. 😀
