Mp3 Car/Truck Project!

Would this work?

Use a PDA for the MP3 player, and this to hold your Mp3s and put it in my truck? I know I would need to add a wireless card to the server, but it seems logical!

Why not just get an iPod? It's about the same price...

..or even get just a wireless FM modulator to plug into your PDA... $30 tops on that.

Is it difficult to connect a PDA or iPod to your car stereo?

You'd have to run wires out from behind the dash, or into the glove compartment.

Link?

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. There are no RCA jacks in the rear(AFAIK) or AUX ports in the front of the factory CD player . I wish there was. That is why I was thinking this.

I already had an Ipod, didnt like it, since it can ONLY play Mp3s. This way I can transfer files etc and have a PDA.

You can use your iPod to transfer files...at least the 3rd generations can. You just have to enable it as a hard drive. Just takes one click. I have been wanting to update my CD player in my car since I have recently got an iPod. The main reason I want to use the iPod is because I just had roughly $1300 of CD's stolen from me.

I know, I had one for about two weeks then sold it. Didnt like it, got scratched to easy, couldnt do anything other than a play MP3s, calender, addresses. I saw it as useless for the price. I could not hook it straight up to my stereo, and it would have just cost too much for accessories etc. So I sold it.

I had a Mp3 CD player in my old car, but it went with it when I traded it in for my truck, and I hate messing around with CDs etc, its not safe while driving and you have a chance of them getting stolen, like what happened to you.
