mp3 burning question.

When playing downloaded songs from Morpheus straight from the folder it's downloaded to it plays perfect, but after burning to a CD it skips while playing from the CD. I burned 2 CDs last night and a bunch of songs are like this. What would cause this? The media (Acer 16x 80min), the burner(HP 8100 series), the burning software(Adaptec Easy CD Creator), or burning speed(4x now, should I try slower)?

*shrug* 🙂 Opened up EZ CD Creator, chose 'Make Audio CD', highlighted the mp3's I wanted to burn, and hit 'make CD'. That's right, ain't it?

Sounds like you did everything right. You may want to try different media, some cds have the label come off of them i.e. PNY imation Sony are good memorex are good, never tried acer, also make sure you are running no other programs and a personal suggestion, get nero, its a lot better than adaptec

Find out if your copy of EZCDcreator has any incompatibilities with certain MP3 encoding formats - for example, variable bit rate.

Is it a sort of garbled skipping or a clear skip?

it could be your cd-reader. I have had a few start to skip at various times when playing audio cd's. The skip was never in the same place a second time, it was a random skipping. When the cd is played on another unit, no skips.
